Kendra Vita MS, LPC intern
Supervised by Jeffrey Tarrant, PhD

I graduated from the Univeristy of Texas at San Antonio in 2001 with a BA in English. After fifteen years of life experience including motherhood, teaching, and entrepreneurship, I returned to UTSA for my MS in Counseling in 2016 where I had the privilege of studying under some of the nation’s leaders in the profession. I graduated in May 2019 and received my LPC intern license in July 2019.

I chose to enter the counseling profession because I have always viewed people in terms of their potential, and I have a sincere desire to help them grow. My clients know that my heart is for them, 100%. My experience has allowed me to assist adult clients with a wide variety of presenting issues including managing stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. My soothing and sensitive nature, combined with a strategic ability to guide and direct our sessions has been healing for many. I incorporate acceptance and commitment therapy as well as NeuroMeditation to teach my clients how to live more mindfully and with a greater sense of self compassion. A typical session often includes some laughter, some tears, and a greater sense of clarity and peace.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy reading, hiking, time on the river, and going to concerts.

I am happy to offer a free fifteen minute phone consultation.  You can tell me your struggle, and I’ll let you know how I can help.
